Located on the south bank of the Mendoza River, in the department (town) of Lujan de Cuyo, Perdriel is one of the most ancient and well-known regions in Argentine viticulture. With endless vineyards and 100–year-old bodegas, Perdriel has become the source of great, classic Argentine wines throughout the 20th century.
Undoubtedly, the main assets of Perdriel are its vines, some of the oldest in Mendoza. There are still old vines of Malbec on rootstock, balanced with little vigor and excellent quality. Thanks to this history and the quality of its fruits, this district of Lujan de Cuyo is one of the few areas that boasts the mark of Controlled Designation of Origin on its wine labels.
With a privileged location, at an altitude of between 950 and 980 meters above sea level, the vineyards of Perdriel occupy one of the highest and coolest areas of Lujan de Cuyo.
Like the rest of the wine regions of Mendoza, its climate is dry, with hot summers and very cold winters. But one vital factor that defines its climate is the proximity to the Mendoza River, which provides a sort of corridor for the cool air descending from the Andes.
This location also provides information for understanding the composition of its soils: alluvial and poor in organic matter. In general, they are sandy loam on the surface with an abundance of stones and rocks at 20cm of depth, a feature that makes them ideal for growing red varieties, mainly Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
According to experts, the Malbec has a unique identity, which is easy to identify, achieving a refined and subtle style, with good fruit and bright acidity. It is a classic but fresh style. As for the other star of the region, Cabernet Sauvignon, it develops a special character, with a red and fruity profile but without much vegetal presence.

CASARENA JAMILLA’S SINGLE VINEYARD MALBEC
Rocky limestone and shallow soil. Terroir´s best expression is a wine with mineral notes, floral and red fruit flavors. Fresh, pure elegance makes you crave a second (or third!) glass.
ACHAVAL FERRER FINCA BELLA VISTA
Bella Vista, home of the Achaval Ferrer winery. This outstanding Malbec stands out for its balsamic notes and a smoothly weaved texture. It is elegant and perfumed, with prominent juicy acidity and an endless, long-lingering finish.
BRAMARE MARCHIORI VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Deep ruby-red and purple shades are displayed in this wine. Aromas of red berries, tobacco and chocolate comprise the nose. Its taste is an enchanting combination of blackberries, cassis, pepper, and vanilla. The round tannins and particular volume make this balanced and complex Cabernet Sauvignon stand out, and guide us into a lingering and elegant aftertaste.
A Natural Blend of 87-year old grapes harvested from a 1.3 hectare plot planted at the beginning of the 20th century. A product of the co-fermentation of these grapes (some unknown), the results is a complex wine combining ripe red fruits, stony notes and a touch of green cedar. Smooth and structured, full of intrigue.
